Mechanical Contractor Business Development Manager – Spearhead the Future of Mechanical Solutions

Job description

Over my two decade-long journeys in the mechanical contracting world, it’s become evident that
‘business development’ holds diverse meanings across the spectrum. Some perceive it as
merely quoting a few projects and networking at local trade shows. Others view it as a deep
understanding of mechanical intricacies and building long-term relationships with clients and
prospects.

However, a handful of companies like STAT Climate Control Solutions view it as the very
heartbeat of the organization. Here, we’re on a perpetual quest: innovating, gauging market
dynamics, continuously learning to pinpoint areas to refine, and identifying service gaps. The
objective? Not just to meet but to consistently surpass customer expectations.
As the Mechanical Contractor Business Development Manager at STAT Climate, your day is
devoid of cold calling unqualified prospects. Instead, most of your sales come from
engagements with a profitable base of target prospects and upselling our premier services to an
existing clientele – many of whom are eager to understand how our latest offerings can
transform their spaces.

Given our ambitious growth roadmap, you won’t just be another salesperson; you’ll be shaping
the critical infrastructure investment roadmap of a rapidly evolving organization. And with such
rapid progression, the opportunities to reinvent, innovate, influence, and redefine how we serve
clients are boundless.

Interested? Great! Let’s explore deeper:

Heart of the Role

Consultative Engagement is Key: Regularly interact with clients to demonstrate how our
premium mechanical solutions can redefine their comfort and operational efficiency.

Be the Expert: Offer meticulous insights on performance metrics, educate on best mechanical
practices, and help clients leverage their investments.

Build for Tomorrow: Your interactions should go beyond immediate sales, but about future
upsells, referrals, and sustained business relations.

Strategic Insight: Although we’ll groom you with our methodologies and strategies, your
enthusiasm for marketing – especially how it intersects with mechanical contracting – will be
vital.

A few traits that would help you excel:

Unwavering Confidence: Whether it’s a phone call, a Zoom meeting, or a face-to-face chat,
your ability to convey trust and expertise is paramount.

Technological Prowess: Understand the basic digital platforms that most businesses use and
be able to use these efficiently on a daily basis.

Strategic Selling: Have the knack to close a deal, ensuring that it aligns with both the client’s
needs and our business goals.

Team Player: While being proactive is crucial, understanding, and valuing team dynamics is
equally essential.

Articulate Communicator: Your ability to converse, listen, and adapt your approach based on
feedback can make all the difference.

Our Promise to You
Lucrative Remuneration: A competitive base salary, complemented with commissions that
genuinely reflect your efforts.

Holistic Benefits: Health coverage, RRSP matching, and a considerate leave policy.

Continual Learning: A $1,500 credit to help you expand your horizons and deepen your
expertise.

Operational Flexibility: Though you’d be needed during core business hours, we value work-
life balance.

Skills and Qualifications Required

Versed Experience: A minimum of 4 years in business development or sales, preferably with
some mechanical contracting exposure.

Digital Fluency: Familiarity with common online tools and CRM systems, especially in a B2B
context.

Communication: Adept at both written and verbal interactions.
